Boxser Diversity Initiative proudly welcomes Sue Jacobson to our Advisory Board.


A native of Elmira, New York, Sue earned a B.A. from the University of Rochester, her M.S. in Social Administration from Case Western University’s Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences, and her J.D., cum laude, from Albany Law School of Union University, where she was a member of the Justinian Honor Society and personal research assistant to the Dean of the law school.  Following law school, Sue was a Confidential Law Research Assistant to the Justices of the New York State Supreme Court, Appellate Division in Albany, New York.  After living and practicing law for many years in Rochester, New York, Sue moved to Sarasota in 1999. In Sarasota, Sue continued to practice law until her retirement.

Sue currently chairs the Board of Directors of the New College Foundation, which supports New College, the honors college of the Florida state system.  She is also a member of the Board of Directors of Pines of Sarasota Foundation and Canandaigua National Trust Company of Florida.  She is a past Chair of the Board of Directors of JFCS (Jewish Family and Children’s Service of the Suncoast) and a past President of the West Coast Florida Region of AJC (American Jewish Committee).  Sue is part of the Leadership Sarasota Alumni Association (Class of 2001).
