A recent alliance of collaboration including The Multicultural Health Institute (MHI), The Boxser Diversity Initiative, and others sponsored the Hackathon Initiative at New College of Florida in October 2016 l. The program was very successful, but despite its good intentions, minority students from undeserved areas of the community were a small representation of participants. 

Know No Bounds (MHI-KNB) a program of MHII will provide that opportunity for interested youth as a pilot project become refined into a long term sustaining intervention on an ongoing basis. Therefore, the MHI-KNB Committee is collaborating to develop and implement a network for teaching entrepreneurship and Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and Health (STEAMH) program(s) in the region.

The MHI-KNB Committee is an alliance of members of the following organizations working in collaboration  the Multicultural Health Institute, a 501c3 organization.

 

Our vision is to develop and implement and environment of continuous technical education in underserved minorities communities. Students are provided the necessary skills to academically plan for successful future, develop an entrepreneurial mindset and skills, to recognize and develop business opportunities, embrace and use technology.

 

This July The MHI-KNB present its SUMMER TECH SESSION.

 

Where students will have the opportunity:

  • Use Technology to learn about Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics and Health (STEAMH)
  • Meet game designers and STEAMH leaders
  • Learn how to create an app
  • Meet new friends, have fun while learning
  • Win Prizes!

The program will be held at the North Sarasota Library (2801 Newtown Blvd, Sarasota FL 34234) from July 24th to July 28th 2017 from 3 to 5 pm.
